Meet The Founder

Meet Ken
Hi, I'm Ken Lupata – educator, sports scientist, nutritionist, and founder of FLAVA.
Born and raised in South London, I've spent my career working with young people, supporting them both inside and outside the classroom. With a background in Sport and Exercise Coaching and a Master's degree in Applied Sports Nutrition, I'm passionate about helping families build healthier habits, stronger relationships, and brighter futures through the power of food.
My Story

FLAVA began with a simple observation.
Working in schools, I met countless young people who were spending more time on their phones than with their families. Many told me they wished they could spend more time with their parents, while others spoke about eating separately, struggling with confidence, or feeling disconnected at home.

At the same time, I saw how confusing nutrition had become. Young people were getting much of their food information from social media, while families were finding it harder than ever to find quality time together.

I started asking myself a question:
What if food could be the bridge?

What if cooking together could create opportunities for conversation, connection, learning, and laughter?
That question became FLAVA – Families Learning and Vibrantly Achieving.
Today, FLAVA brings parents, children, and communities together through hands-on cooking experiences, nutrition education, and meaningful conversations. Our mission is simple:

To rebuild family connection, one plate at a time.
